In this meditation, we will increase our sense of inner calm by connecting to our Entelechy.

Entelechy means the ‘full realization of potential.’

It’s the entelechy of a little acorn to become a grand oak tree. It’s the entelechy of a crawling caterpillar to become the soaring butterfly.

We each come into this life with our own blueprint of a fully expressed, fully realized Self.

Your entelechy is the fully realized you standing on the other side of your fear, anxiety, or overwhelm.

Each time you establish a connection with your entelechy, she or he pulls you forth and brings you closer to the calming home within.

During this meditation, I’ll be asking you to recall two moments in your life:

  1.  A moment when you felt deep calm and serenity; where you felt utterly connected from within
  2.  A moment when you felt the exact opposite: extreme fear, anxiety, or overwhelm

Take a moment to connect with those two memories now internally.

Alright, let’s begin.

Sit upright and comfortably.

The spine should be straight, and the shoulders relaxed.

Relax the face, the jaw

Bring your tongue to touch the roof of your mouth gently and rest it there, relaxed.

Breathing normally

Close the eyes

Notice the sensations of the body

If you feel any discomfort, shift around now to get completely comfortable.

Let’s take a few deep breaths together.

Breathe in

Breathe out

Breathe in

Breathe out

(Outward breath): Notice how your body relaxes on the outward breath

Breathe in

Breathe out

Still breathing together, let’s count five outward breaths feeling our bodies becoming more relaxed each time.

One. The body’s relaxing.

Two. The body feels relaxed.

Three. Tension is releasing.

Four.  Releasing any tension.

Five. You’re deeply relaxed.

Today we connect with our entelechy – that part of us expressing our fully realized potential.

We increase our sense of inner calm through this connection, regardless of what is happening in our outer experience.

Our breath is the bridge to our entelechy.

Each time we connect to our breath, we connect to our entelechy.

Each time we connect to our breath, we increase our inner calm.

Every challenge and moment of fear, anxiety, or overwhelm offers us an opportunity to reconnect.

In this meditation, we will dissolve fear, anxiety, and overwhelm.

We’ll perceive these emotions differently, and we’ll know exactly what to do to access the calm, soothing internal home within.

We’ll become our own refuge and safe haven, regardless of what is happening on the outside.

We’ll be more resilient in the face of challenges and demands.

Think back to a moment in your life when you felt deep calm and serenity, where you felt completely connected from within.

Take a moment to step into that memory.

Where were you?

What time of day was it?

What were you doing?

Look around – what were your surroundings?

Were there any special sights, sounds, or smells?

Feel that deep calm energy within you now, expanding in the bottom of your belly with every breath, like a light getting brighter with each inhale.

Notice that you can access this space and this feeling again and again by going inward and connecting with your breath.

Our breath is the bridge to our entelechy.

Each time we connect to our breath, we connect to our entelechy.

Each time we connect to our breath, we increase our inner calm.

Every challenge and moment of fear, anxiety, or overwhelm offers us an opportunity to reconnect.

Now, think of a moment when you felt extremely afraid, anxious, or overwhelmed.

Without diving into the memory’s details too deeply, just connect to the way you felt then.

And keep breathing deeply.

See if you can notice the energy of fear, anxiety, or overwhelm.

Notice how it is similar to the energy of excitement in some ways.

Keep breathing deeply.

Keep relaxing into the breath.

Connected with the breath.

Connected from within.

Feeling that deep sense of calm expanding inside you.

Amid the chaos.

That deep sense of grounding and calm.

Anchored within you.

What would it feel like to anchor into this state during a fearful, anxious, or overwhelming time?

Notice the feeling you have when you approach stressful moments in this way.

Notice how you feel about yourself.

How has your own self-perception changed?

Our breath is the bridge to our entelechy.

Each time we connect to our breath, we connect to our entelechy.

Each time we connect to our breath, we increase our inner calm.

Every challenge and moment of fear, anxiety, or overwhelm offers us an opportunity to reconnect.

Every time we enter this deeply calm and grounded place, we embody our fully realized potential.

We merge with our entelechy.

And if a stressful moment arises and we aren’t able to enter this place?

This is ok.

This is normal.

Either way, we are worthy and deserving of love.

We can always return to the deep calm no matter how afraid, anxious, or overwhelmed we are.

We can always return to our inner home by returning to our breath.

Let’s sit in silence for a few minutes and just allow ourselves to integrate this experience.

Notice the sensations in your body

Notice the feelings in your body

Notice resistance in your body

Notice acceptance in your body

Whatever you feel or sense, just notice it without judgment or resistance

Recognize your capacity to overcome difficulty or discomfort whether or not they’re present

Feel your body

Feel your energy

Bring your hands to your heart or your lower belly if that feels right.

Just sit with yourself.

And whenever you’re ready.

In your own time, slowly open the eyes.

Let’s take a moment to open up to gratitude for this experience.

For having shown up.

Remember, your calm center is your home within.

You are your own source of serenity and refuge.

In La’kech.
